Using Finder 

Click (1) GO in menu bar then (2) Connect To Server 

Type Server name

In the (1) Server Address box type smb://  followed by server name e.g. smb://vulcan  Then click (2) connect   

If  you prefer click (3) Browse and select the server from the list 

Click the (4) + button to save the server address to your favourites. 

Authentication 

You will now be asked to confirm your Pickering network login credentials.   

(1) Name will be in the format firstname.lastname 

Check (2) Remember this password in my keychain if you do not want to keep authenticating to access this server. 

Then click (3) Connect 

Shares

You will now see a list of (1) Shares.  Select one and click OK 

Finder Display

Under (1) SHARED on the Finder left hand list you will see the server

You should now be able to see the share you were after !!
