We are all familiar with the bookmark bar at the top of Google Chrome Page.

Generally bookmarks are added to the bar by clicking the Star icon to make a webpage a favourite  (1)

When you bookmark a site, you have the option to shorten the default name that is added to the Toolbar.

Here The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Omnibus Edition (2) becomes Hitch (3)

Where you already have a bookmark bar that is full, you can edit the Name of the Bookmark to shorten it, thereby fitting more icons along the bookmark bar.

To do this, simply right click on the name of the bookmark you want to shorten, and select Edit from the Drop down menu (4)

You can then shorten the name of the Bookmark (5 - 6)

Thereby fitting a lot more bookmarks onto your bookmark ribbon.

I attempt to create all of my bookmarks using a maximum of 3 letters to get as many bookmarks into my browser as possible!
