Publishing a report in Nprinting
Once you have created your app, connection and report in Nprinting, you can then look at publishing the report. There are several options for publishing a report, and here we will cover some of the basic ones. First you need to go to Tasks>Publish task on your top menu. This will then give you an overview of tasks that are saved within Nprinting. From here you want to select "Create task"
In this section you will need to fill out some details about your report. Start of with a name, then select the app you wish you publish from. You can also select how many different reports are kept, and for how long. This is important if you are publishing a report regularly that changes frequently, and you need to keep the different versions. You can also password your report here, both for view and editing purposes. Once you are done here, click the "Create" button
Once done, you will now have access to edit parts of the publishing task. To start, click the button labeled "Reports", then click "Add report"
Here you can add the report you wish to publish, and choose the output of the report. Once you have done this, click "Add report"
Now we want to choose our destinations. Click the button labeled "Destinations in the Publish menu. This will display 2 options as default. NewsStand is a central location hosted within Nprinting that displays an overview of Nprinting reports. Email allows you to configure an email that is sent out with the report attached to it.
It is also possible to add a custom destination such as a folder on the local server Nprinting is installed onto. This allows Nprinting to be used to create static websites, such as we have done for the Pickering Air Quality site https://air.pickeringtest.com/
If you click Email message, you can configure the email you wish to send out with your report.
Once you have configured how you want your report to be published, you must set a trigger for the publishing task. To do this, click on "Triggers" within the Publish tasks menu. From here click "Create trigger".
Give your tyrigger a name, and select how often you want it to trigger. Within each schedule type there is different options for frequency, and for if this is a single trigger, or a multiple time trigger.
Once you have completed configuring your trigger, click create. You can always go in and edit the trigger later, or add multiple triggers for the same report.
