Mimecast for Outlook: Managed Senders
You can manage your own list of email addresses in Outlook using Mimecast Plugin.
This plugin helps to block, permit, and manage automatically allowed addresses.
To install Mimecast for Outlook, download 64-Bit Client from this location: https://community.mimecast.com/s/mimecast-for-outlook
To open Mimecast Managed sender’s view from Outlook application:
- Open Outlook and click on the Mimecast ribbon in the Home page
2. Click on Managed Senders
There are 3 different list in managed senders and they can be managed separately by selecting each list.
- Blocked: The emails from addresses that you suspect as spam or with malicious links can be manually added to this list
- Permitted: Emails from external domains that you trust can be added to permitted senders list (these emails will bypass spam checks in the future so make sure these are emails from trusted third parties)
- Auto-Permitted: Automatically allowed addresses are added to your ‘Auto-Permitted list’ each time an email is sent from your address to a new external domain. Mimecast remembers these addresses so that spam checks are bypassed from the next time an email originates from them.
NOTE: If you find one of those addresses in auto-permitted list cannot be trusted anymore because of some potential cyber risk in the third party organization then promptly remove/block the address from your Auto Permitted Senders list.
