Meetings with Teams

There are two ways to start meetings from Teams.

You can start a meeting from a team to invite everybody from that team.

You can start a meeting from a chat to invite individual people.

Starting an open meeting with your whole Team

To start an open meeting, first navigate to Teams then the one you would like to open a meeting with.

At the bottom of the page click the video icon that will display a label of 'Meet Now'

A small pop up will appear showing your icon or current camera view. You can add a title for the meeting at the top ( 1 ) and select at the bottom if you want to join with your camera on or only use voice ( 2 ). Then click Meet Now to start the Meeting and notify the team ( 3 ).

This will open a meeting for anyone in the team to join on, you can also schedule these open meetings by clicking Schedule a meeting ( 4 ).

Here you can schedule meetings, even regularly to reoccur. You can fill out all the deatails of the meeting and invite people to be notified.

One thing to note is that text in the bottom left of the scheduling box. If it says it is an online meeting and anyone can join means it is an open meeting to the team. This is different to meetings that are set up by invite only.

Starting a closed meeting with invited participants

You can schedule meetings that are invite only in two ways. One way is the same as described previously and change the 'channel to meet in' to 'none' This will make the meeting private between you and the invited participants.

Alternatively you can navigate through the chat tab, clicking on the contact you would like to invite then again pressing schedule a meeting.
