Using Outlook for Sharing Location Status
Using the calendar in Outlook to share your location when working outside of the office is an easy way to let Pickering colleagues know your whereabouts and availability.
- Open Calendar in Outlook and choose "New Appointment".
- Use the Subject to specify where you are working e.g. Working from CZ or Working From Home.
- Specify the date and time.
- Next to "Show As", choose Tentative. This prevents Teams and your calendar showing you as busy during this time.
(Windows users will see an additional open called "Working From Elsewhere". Please do NOT use this as it doesn't work properly with Apple devices and act differently)
- Assuming yours looks similar to the below, click "Save & Close"
- In Outlook for Mac, it might look more like this
- If your colleagues go to book a meeting with you, they will see something like the below in Scheduling Assistant.
- If your colleagues browse your calendar, they should see something like the below.
