3.2 Library Requirements
In order to maintain a structure in the library it is necessary to define “rules” for the creation of the schematic and PCB symbols, the following sections contain the necessary guidance.
Before designing new device schematics the common library must first be investigated to see if a suitable schematic is already available. Many devices have reusable schematics, for identifying naming of many of the schematics refer to the chapter: Schematic symbol naming rules.
In the case where there is nothing suitable for the new device, then a new schematic will need to be created. Please refer to the General Design Specification / Guidelines, it is also advisable to look at similar existing devices in the library that can be copied and used as a template for the new device.
