9.2 PXI / PCI Commonality
Traditionally porting a design between platforms occurred with a significant period between the two events. The situation has evolved to reduce the time between porting or even producing designs in parallel. This change places a higher localised demand on resources i.e. designing two modules instead of one.
To minimise resources on mother / daughter modules the daughter card where possible should be designed to be common between platforms (PXI, PCI & possibly PCIe).
