3.2.1.6 Hardware

  1. Symbols shall be created for all non-PCB components such as PXI handle, mounting blocks.
  2. Non-PCB components shall be defined in properties as type->‘mechanical’ so that they are included on the BOM but not on the PCB.
  3. Non-PCB components shall be represented by a simple box with descriptive text such as ‘Handle’.
  4. Symbols shall be created for fixing screws (associated fixing holes shall be included in the footprint library).
  5. Symbols for fixing screws shall reference the screw used with them.
