The designer should advise on any additional features or configurations to those requested in the product definition. The suggestions could be offered either with the initial product release or later and would be defined by the following:-

1. Market competitive changes i.e. new competitor / ease of copying.
2. Desire to add additional modules based on market / application knowledge (typically after the initial product release).
3. Customer requires a “special” with additional features i.e. custom software, alternate connector or even a different configuration to that presently listed.

 The following are some examples (some may be in development):-

1. Additional front panel connector(s), to make wiring easier it can be advantageous to:-

1. Separate the X & Y axis points / common & channels between connectors.
2. Provide loop thru connections.

It is permissible to leave off the PXI ejector handle to allow for the additional connector to be fitted.

For modules without a handle the card removal method should be specified (some already exist).

2. Current monitoring.

3. Temperature monitoring.

4. LED status indication.

5. Relay operation counting.

The inclusion of additional features (some of which may be optional) is in line with the mass customisation policy being adopted by Pickering and serves to differentiate us from the competition.
