3.2.3.7 ICs

  1. IC footprints shall comply with the IPC standard.
  2. ICs shall have a medium density footprint as default.
  3. ICs shall have a second high density footprint for dense designs.
  4. All IC footprints shall have, as a Z reference point for mechanics, a Mechanical 13 extruded cuboid of dimensions 0.02mm Width x 0.02mm Length x 0.5mm Height placed centred on pin1 (or A1) with opacity set to 0%.
  5. All ICs shall have a Mechanical 13 extruded rectangular cuboid with IPC standard body dimensions and standoff centred on the footprint to represent a 3D body.
