1. Click on “Add New Report Output” and from the new window select Bill Of Materials and then [Project].
2. Single right click on Bill Of Materials and select Page Setup, from the new window (BOM Page – Default image) simply change the color set to Colour as per the BOM Page – Configured image then press Close.

3. It is now necessary to configure the output, single right click Bill Of Materials and select Configure, a window similar to that in the image BOM Configure  Default will be displayed.

4. Under Export Options select Add to Project and Open Exported.

5. Under Excel Options press the “…” at the end of the drop down box and from the new window select Pickering AutoBOM.xlt from the ..\AltiumPickeringLib folder.

6. In the All Columns section ensure that only the following terms have a tick in the Show column:-

7. Single left click, hold & drag the Notes & Part Number parameters from the All Columns section into the Grouped Columns section. If there are any additional parameters in the Grouped columns they should be dragged to the All columns section.

8. Click on the word Notes at the top of the Notes Column header, this will sort the text so that SM parts are listed first followed by TH and then any other variants.

9. This completes the configuration of the BOM and the window show be as per the BOM  Configured image.

10. To generate the BOM press Export, you will be prompted to enter a file name then select Save. Once complete the Excel sheet will be opened. Return back to Altium select OK to close the BOM window.
