6.1.4 Export Outputs
- Click on “Add New Export Output” and from the new window select Export IDF and then [PCB Document].
- Click on “Add New Export Output” and from the new window select AutoCAD DWG/DXF File PCB and then [PCB Document].
- To configure the IDF output single right click on the Export IDF file and select Configure, from the new window (Export IDF – Default image) change the units to metric (the window should now be as per the Export IDF – Configured image), press OK.
- To configure the DXF output single right click on the AutoCAD DWG/DXF file and select Configure, from the new window (Export DXF – Default image) change the units to metric and the format to DXF (the window should now be as per the Export DXF – Configured image), press OK.

5. Assuming the outputs have been produced in the order listed in this document it will be necessary to change the settings for the Folder Structure Output Container, to do this deselect the round buttons associated with the Fabrication Outputs and select the two associated with the Export Outputs (see Export Output Container Folder image)

- In the Folder Structure section of the output containers click on Change, the window will be as per the Folder Settings Export Default image.
- This completes the configuration, press OK.
- Select Generate Content from the Output Container, the files will be generated. Please note that the files won’t open automatically so they will need to be located on the PC if they are to be viewed.

4. For legacy designs that are not based on the Altium common library it is necessary to process the IDF outputs (*.brd & *.pro) using the BRDConvert application as mentioned at the start of this document before supplying them to the mechanical team for design verification. Simply double left click the BRDConvert file, select the required *.brd file and press Open ; repeat for the *.pro file.
This completes the output generation using an output job file.
